Born in Mexico City by a hardworking, dedicated Mother, the versatility of ingredients were shown to Martin at an early stage. At seven years old, he was already part of the kitchen household responsibilities and showing his passion for cooking. Having three brothers and three sisters made a large family and with Mexican European traditions, needless to say, there was a lot of cooking involved. It is no surprise that Chef Martin fell in love with the art of cooking from a very early age.

In 1988 Chef Martin graduated in Mexico City with a degree in tourism and languages. To go back in 1989 to get his Degree in Culinary Arts.

After travels to Europe, Mexico, and South America, Chef Martin has created an array of dishes of multicultural cuisines and started to combine ingredients from all around the world to create pieces that now all of us are more accustomed to.

His background and his love of art, along with his cooking, married into what he calls now Mexican Novelle, a cuisine with European undertones.

In 2009 Chef Martin was the founder of ChefMartin.Net and developing this nonprofit site to share his feelings and passion about his cooking and the community. He now has thousands of followers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and his website, as he continues to cook, write, document, develop recipes, concepts and share his passion for his cooking and food trends. He is often seen on TV shows and is a daytime television Chef for Great Day Saint Louis KMOV CBS. He also does live public presentations and radio around the country including Univision, CBS, FOX, and ABC.

The professional mission statement of Chef Martin is to educate, bring awareness and direct the spotlight to the Latin gastronomy culture one ingredient and one dish at the time, his passion for cooking reflects all the traditional cooking techniques using all the authentic tools for his cooking as he also talks, demonstrates and teaches about the culture, cooking or baking of the dish, country and origins as well as the holidays and Latin traditions with a strong emphasis on Mexican cuisine and culture, his place of birth.

His style of food which is primarily a fusion of indigenous Mesoamerican cooking with European (especially Spanish) cooking developed after the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire.

Most of today's Mexican cuisine is based on pre-Hispanic traditions, including the Aztecs, Maya, and the Indigenous people of Mexico combined with culinary trends introduced by Spanish colonists and it is this that Chef Martin is passionate about.

Behind and is a team of Chefs, culinary enthusiasts and friends based out of St Louis, Mo. USA.

We set our goal for 2009 to launch this non-profit site as we all share the same feelings and passion about our cooking and community.

Chef Martin Lopez has always been focused on developing himself as a Professional Culinarian, teacher and Chef and his goal has always been to be able to share information with his colleagues, as well as the general public about different industry issues, trends, and ideas, achieving this through his social media outlets and with a clear understanding and without the pressure of gimmicks or sale points has become an important goal for him.

In addition, and are is based on promoting the professional image of American Chefs worldwide through education of Latin and Hispanic cuisine.
